Game Day & Tailgating Essentials From Scratch

Our first Bronco game of the 2018 season is just 3 days away! Even if you aren’t a huge football fan, you can make game day a fun experience and spend quality time with friends and family. Bronco Sunday is one of our favorites. We love having watch parties or going to Mile High Stadium to watch the games. Either way you can make it a fun tailgating experience! Here’s a quick list of my favorite tailgating tips to give you and your family/friends the best game day experience!

Game day Tailgating Essentials

1. Food-

An obvious necessity- Brauts, Hotdogs, Burgers are usually our go-to. If you want to be extra fancy- prep some sides to take along- potato salad, salad, chips and dip! These are all quick and easy options. I’ll be coming out with my favorite GAMEDAY RECIPES this Saturday…stay tuned!

Beer & Football go pretty much hand in hand…. Jordan was gifted this Fizzics machine last year and it’s so cool!!! You put a beer in and it comes out with fizz as if it was on tap. I don’t know about you but beer on tap always just tastes better. So for an even better game day experience, bring one of these along to your tailgate for a cold beer on tap!

2. Fan Gear

Is a fan with no fan gear really actually a fan!? No game day is complete without the proper attire!! I recently shared some game day attire for your little one’s (click here for the link). But do you have a shirt or other gear for yourself and family?! We get all our Bronco gear custom made by local Colorado shop HYK Limited.

We have so many of her products! She does a great job customizing anything you need exactly how you want it.

3. Set up and Necessities

If you’re planning on going to a game to tailgate, make sure you have all the necessities- chairs, umbrellas or tents, a grill (don’t forget propane or charcoal!), trash bags, paper plates, plastic forks & knives, a cooler with your favorite drinks (don’t forget the ice!), a football to toss, a table and decor!

If you’re having a tailgating party from home, you can really get that tailgating feel with some of these items…Check out some of my favorites below:

4. Games

The best part of tailgating! There are SO many fun games out there to play while tailgating or even in your backyard or driveway before a game! Some of our favorites are:

Cornhole- a must have while tailgating! We hand made and painted ours, but you can order a set on amazon to be here before game day with this link.

Kan Jam-

Another crowd favorite. This one involves a frisbee and two trashcan like containers. You have a partner on the opposite side, you throw the frisbee to try and get it into the can. You get a different amount of points depending on if it hits the outside of the can, goes in the can, goes in the small slot on the front of the can, or if your partner helps and hits it into the can. Order your own here!

Mashball-

A fun new game my in-laws introduced us to. We brought this to our last tailgate at a preseason game and I won an Emmanual Sanders jersey with it! So this obviously one of my new favorites. It’s kind of like beer pong, but you play it on the cement with these hacky-sack type balls. Click here to get your own!

Spike Ball-

Another new game my brother-in-law Cody and his girlfriend Allie introduced us to. They’re crazy good and suggest playing it on grass-it can get a little wild! It can also be played in a parking lot, we also saw a group playing last time we were tailgating at Mile High! Follow this link to check out the Spike Ball website, learn how to play, and order your own set. It’s really fun and competitive!

Some other games I am excited to try this football season are:
